This Painting is called Sirin and Alkonost or The birds of Joy and Sorrow. This paint was made by Viktor Vasnetsov. This painting is similar my print because of the similar joy and sorrow. The thing that are in the painting are a myth in Russia. This myth can be located in the 13th century. There is not much about the painting as the only thing about it is the meaning. I used this painting as an inspiration because of the style of the painting and the title and somewhat the meaning of it.

I add two head to represent the happy and sad, I also wanted to add a snake to it because a snake is supposed to mean rebirth and I wanted it to mean a rebirth of something new in my life.

For the Process, We must first sketch out our layout of what we are going to use in the dry point. one done with the planning sketch chose one that you feel is better once done put tape around the edges of the plastics that you will be carving on. once you put the tape on the plastic then you will start carving out the drawing. You will use the block print tool for the carving . Once you have your tool you will then start to carver the design. When doing the design you have to press the to harder to make it deep so when you print it the place that are deep will come out darker and if you want it light just press it light or normal press. Once done with the design you can start your print.
